An Investment in Yourself!

What if we cared about our ROI as much as our companies cared about theirs? When you think of your health as a business + an investment in yourself, our mindsets change + things start to happen!

Here’s 3 ways to reframe our minds + to view our health behaviors as a Return on Investment:

1. Quality not Quantity – If you’re shopping for produce, many times it’s better to hit up your local farmer’s market than your Big Box grocery store. Typically, the selection may be smaller, but the quality is so much better because they are able to specialize in specific items + get really good at growing them. Think about your health choices in the same way; instead of trying to do everything, pick a few healthy habits + focus on perfecting them.

2. Brand Awareness – If you had to create a personal wellness brand (lifestyle), what would that look like? What would your mission, values + goals be? What would the strategy look like to get you there? Brand Awareness is the ability for customers to recognize a brand under different conditions. Think about your health in the same way. Different conditions could be stress, lack of sleep, busy schedules - really anything to throw you off track! BUT, no matter what the condition is, when you stay loyal to the lifestyle you want for yourself, you begin to generate momentum + then soon, others will begin to notice too!

3. Level of Engagement – If you were hiring an employee + wanted someone on your team that was super engaged, what qualities would you look for? We all would of course want someone who was committed to their job + showed up everyday. But, how about personal accountability + ownership? Maybe, you would even want someone who didn’t make excuses when things got tough + generally had a pretty positive attitude towards their assignments + responsibilities. Now no one is perfect, + even the most engaged employee has off days, but if we were to measure engagement in terms of health behaviors, would you hire yourself?
